This page says, in plain words, what vJetOps knows about you, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
vJetOps (vjetops.com) is a virtual charter operation for flight simulator pilots. It is a hobby service: no real flights, no real aircraft, and the money in it is not real money.
For anything about your data, write to operations@vjetops.com.
What we keep about you
Your account: the name you give, your email address, your password (stored only as a one-way hash that we cannot read), your callsign, your simulator, your language and your weight units.
What you choose to add: your SimBrief pilot ID, your VATSIM ID and your IVAO ID.
Your flying here: the charters and ferries you book, the flight plans you import from SimBrief, your aircraft, your balance and its movements, loans, and your reputation.
What the tracker sends during a flight: position, altitude, speed and heading; fuel and weights; flight phase; landing rate; seat belt sign; passenger comfort; alerts such as overspeed or a long pause; the name of the aircraft loaded in the simulator; the state of some aircraft systems; and the name of the PC it signed in from.
Technical records every website keeps: your IP address and browser in the server logs, kept for a short time to run and protect the service.
What we do not keep
No payment details: nothing is sold here. No analytics scripts. The only advertising tool is the Meta Pixel, and it loads only if you accept it (see Cookies).
The tracker reads only flight data from the simulator. It does not read your files, your screen or anything else on your PC.
Why we use it
To run your account, record and check your flights, pay them in virtual money, keep the logbooks of pilots and aircraft, and email you about your account: confirming your address, a flight report received, a loan.
We do not sell your data. Apart from up to three reminders to make your first flight, which one click stops, we do not send marketing email.
What other pilots and visitors can see
While you are flying, the live map shows your callsign, your route, your aircraft and your position to anyone who opens it, signed in or not. It does not show your name.
Signed-in pilots can see your callsign in the logbook of any aircraft you have flown.
Your email address, your balance and your network IDs are not shown to other pilots.
Other services involved
SimBrief (Navigraph): we ask it for your latest flight plan using your SimBrief pilot ID, and send you there with your flight details to plan it.
VATSIM and IVAO: we read their public lists of who is online to show whether you are connected, matching by the ID you gave us. We send them nothing unless you press Prefile, which opens their own site.
OpenStreetMap and the Leaflet map library are loaded by your browser on pages with a map, so those services see your IP address. Weather reports come from aviationweather.gov and airport data from OurAirports; neither receives anything about you.
Our hosting provider stores the site and sends our email.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept advertising cookies: the Meta Pixel tells Meta the pages you visit here and when you sign up, so we can measure and improve our ads. Meta processes it under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
The ones needed to work: one that keeps you signed in and protects forms, your language, and one that remembers your answer about advertising cookies.
Advertising cookies from Meta, only if you accept them when we ask. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page.
The tracker keeps a sign-in token on your PC so you do not have to enter your password each time. Signing out removes it.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after its link expires. Flight tracks and reports stay as part of the logbooks.
Your choices
You can see and change your profile at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and what is tied to it: write to operations@vjetops.com from the address of your account.
When an account is deleted, flights it made may stay in the logbooks of aircraft without your name.
Children
vJetOps is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the portal. The date above is when it was last changed.
